Once your home is listed, buyers (and their agents) will want to see it. Here's how to make that process as smooth as possible.

Keep your home show-ready

Beds made, dishes done, counters clear, floors clean, pets secured. Every day. It's annoying, but it matters. You never know when a buyer will want to schedule a last-minute showing.

Secure Valuables

Put away jewelry, prescription medications, important documents, and anything else you don't want strangers seeing or potentially taking.

Be flexible with showing times

The more accessible your home is, the more buyers will see it. We know it's disruptive, but limiting showings to narrow windows can limit your buyer pool.

Control Smells

No strong air fresheners (they make buyers wonder what you're covering up). No cooking strong-smelling foods right before showings. If you have pets, clean litter boxes and vacuum regularly. Open windows for fresh air.

Leave during showings

Buyers feel uncomfortable touring a home with the owner present. Let them explore without feeling watched. Take the dog, grab coffee, run errands—just be somewhere else.

Let Your agent handle feedback

After showings, buyers' agents will provide feedback. Some of it will be useful. Some will be ridiculous. Your agent will filter it and let you know if there's anything worth addressing.
